Toast crashing - Hybrid CD

Right, I'm trying to burn a data CD with multimedia content which should be cross-platform. First I thought that burning a Mac&PC data disc in Toast would be ok but seems not. The disc will work on Macs (obviously) and on XP or lower, but not on Vista or Linux for some odd reason.

So I decided to make a Hybrid disc, but Toast is being a pain and the add volume for Mac won't work at all, just crashes Toast on me. I can add the ISO volume but that's it, and then it says the disc contains no data so I can't burn it.

Right... what am I missing? I must be missing some step here. Stoopid Windows people.
