    Hi All,
Hope this is the right place to ask this but I couldnt think of anywhere else so I require the expertece of you portable media gurus of wisdom.

Basically I'm looking for a cheap and cheerfull Av recorder.

I need a portable box that can take in an AV signal and store it, Preferably on a memory card but Im open to flexability there.
The box is gonna be used with a helmet/goggle/me mounted bullet camera that im going to use for skiing, skydiving, sailing ect.. :D
All i need it to do is record the signal. I dont need a screen for playback or editing, dont need speakers, wont be used as an mp3 player, just a box to store the video until i can get to a computer and transfer it on somehow.

I was thinking an old video camera or something but then I thought I'd ask the boys in the know and see if there is anything better I could use.

Does anybody know if there is such a thing for sale somewhere cheap?
Or failing that I have no problem with a bit of "Bush mechanics" to bodge something together that would do the job.

    All suggestions welcome
