CV joint

Looking for advice (as always !)

Had my car serviced the other day and it turns out that the front driver-side CV joint needs replacing (there is a knocking noise on full lock so something is definitely amiss). Whilst I generally hand over an extortionate amount to get my car serviced at a main dealer (to keep the dealer FSH intact), I don't want the privilege of paying dealer parts and labour prices for a relatively basic replacement job such as this.

Has anyone had this job done recently, using a non-dealership garage ? If so, are there any garages/mechanics that you would recommend ?
I live in Kildare but work in the Clonee/Blanch area and am pretty flexible in terms of when I could make the car available etc.
