Adjusting Sniper Scope

Ok, got the M14 and scope etc today (thx Shiva again) but trying to adjust the scope so it is more accurate. Following the instructions and turning the 2 dials (one on top, one on side) but still not getting completely accurate. It says on the instructions that you should do it shooting at about 100 feet, i am about 20-30 feet only (small back garden ;) ). Just wondering is it possible to get it accurate over such a short distance? No matter how much i turn the dials, its always an inch or 2 off.
    Cheers.

An inch or two at that range is about right for an Airsoft gun, that's about as accurate as you'll get. The zero at 100 feet is for real rifles, not Airsoft.

You looking for groups. Get a clean target fire 10 BB's in to it making sure you don't move your point of aim between shots (ie aim at the center and dont change no matter where the shots hit). Now judge the center of the group and adjust based on that. So if the center is left and low move up and right on the turrets.

The amount of adjustment depnds on the scope. The nearer you are to the target the more you ahve to adjust the turrets. Further away 1 click equates to a much bigger diferance.

Airsofts aren't that accurate or considtant so id settle for any thing within 2 or 3 inches.

ok, that sounds like its there or there abouts in that case. Thanks. One other thing, with charging Ni-Cd batteries, can you leave them overnight? Ie. they wont overload?
    Cheers

PS. Sorry for being such a question-aholic! :)

Typical Zero for real steel may be 100m rather than feet. :D
