Airsoft Vs Paintball

Before you deleate this hive/o1s1n: The title is a bit misleading!

I have noticed that alot of paintballers dislike airsofters and vice versa.

Im not saying either is better than the other (i like Pball) i was just wondering can anyone comment on the REASON why this is so?

Please no argumentative types and no "Airsoft is da sh1t, soooo muc beta thun paintballsss lolzorzz!!!1!!!!!!1!11!!"

Possibly because the faster one sport grows the slower the other one does as they are very similar in they're "target audience".

If you mean the ION C business that was because he was directly attacking airsoft and needed to be told off.

Yeah that guy was a bit of a douche.

Ive seen alot of hate between Pballers and softers on youtube video comments.....perhaps not as big in the irish scene then.

Id love to go paintballing, but with licences and stuff airsoft is easier.

Chances are it is down to perceptions.

Most paintballers dont really care about airsoft and vice versa, the ones that do tend to make fools of themselves bringing their personal and political opinions into a sport that is meant to be fun for everyone. In fact there have been a number of paintballers who have been quite positive about Airsoft.

There will, however, be the folk who want to play the "I have bigger balls than you" game, pun wholly intended. Airsofters tend to be the tactical and camo-chic types whereas paintball has begun to attract a more "sporty" type to the speedball arena (William Shattner is a famous player). So the Paintballers think we are walter mittys and the Airsofters think they are brainless jocks.

This is, of course, all nonsense and prick waving.

Ion C was pissed about the war and global violence (as many of us filthy lefties are) and his comments about airsoft reflected that. He was the type who cant see the difference between video game violence and real violence.

Both sports contain similar elements but have their own following. So you're always going to have a "we're more 1337 than you, your sport is invalid/crap" rivalry happening.

I noticed a bit of this going on with the paintballer forums.
"They're all walts, replica guns ruining it for us etc"

The argument can work both ways. For example. We play with toys. They shoot each other with firearms. ZOMFG THEY'RE RUINING IT FOR US!!!!!"

Live and let live. Don't partake of this pathetic childish behavior. If you dislike something try to be indifferent rather than angry. It just makes you look like a petty idiot who is obviously trying to hide some kind of insecurity.

Anyway, going to close this now before it turns into a total flame war (Which it will)
