    Hey all,

Does anybody know of a par three course in the Newcastle / Athgoe area. A work colleague has told me there is a par 3 course in this area but I am unable to find anything on the internet.

    Many thanks

If you come all the way through newcastle from the N4 and stay on this road, past the 2 turns for celbridge you will reach a fork in the road, the right hand option is sign-posted with Athgoe Par 3 course. Not sure how far down the road it is and have never played, but that seems to be where it is

Yeah it's just a couple hundred yards down on the left. It's well signposted. Some lovely views of the city from up there - tough enough walk in parts!

There's also the par three course at the driving range on the Newcastle-Lucan road as well.

That one's called Peamount Driving Range.

Athgoe is a lovely little course. Greens are really tough, for a par 3 course. Never busy either.

Myself and a friend play there fairly regularly. It's a lovely par 3 course with some reasonably tough holes. The view of the city is great and it is a really tough walk, but well worth it. You won't find much on the internet about it, however. I don't think the owner has gotten around to doing much advertisement. It is well worth the trip out there though.
