Hey all, question that have to find the answer to asap and Google is not being my friend.

Long story but basically I have had to convert an flv to a mov to edit the movie file (did that in QT Pro) now I have to convert the edited mov back to an flv but nothing is working for me. ffmpegX just gives me a stupid error message which doesn't tell me much and I can't seem to find anything else to do the job!! I have tried loads of apps at this stage!

    Error:
Stream #0.0(eng): Audio: aac, 32000 Hz, stereo
    Stream #0.1(eng), 15.00 fps(r): Video: h264, yuv420p, 640x480
Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.0 -> #0.0

I have checked all the codecs and they seem to be fine.

Any suggestions? If worst comes to worst I'll use a PC so if you know of something that will do that then just this one time I use one of those things.

    HELP!! Thanks

Did ya have a gander inside Graphic Converter? It can do conversion on Mov files, maybe it can help you.

Try download the trial of Adobe Flash with the Flash Video Encoder?

    http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/flashpro/productinfo/encoder/

I haven't used Flash in a while and I work more in Director. But anyway, should be something along those lines.

Tried the Adobe Flash encoder, no joy with that. Didn't think of Graphic Converter though. Annoying how QT Pro will only convert to FLC now.

Have found a trial PC (yuck) that will do it, but only with original mov's. It doesnt seem to like my flv to mov roll my own jobby. Neither does cmd line mencoder on the Mac :(

Obviously something in the flv-mov conversion that it doesn't like, or something in the FCP edit & save. URGH

    worst case scenario.......

upload to youtube and then download the flv, then delete the video from youtube

or convert to FLC w/ QT Pro then convert FLC to FLV w/ Flash Video Encoder Trial?

    is that not an option

Why not upload it to youtube?

Won't YouTube put a 'YouTube' watermark on it though?

Think have it sorted now. Instead of coverting the flv to mov and editing the mov, I got the original mov file from the editor, edited that and I'm converting that to flv. Mencoder is happy to take the mov which was not originally an flv file.

    Thanks all!!!

Bloody hell what a day! Trouble with FCP and Illustrator today!! Urgh. Finally seems to be coming together though.

youtube puts a watermark on it while streaming the video. when you save the flv files the watermark is gone.

Ah actually yeah, I should know that the saved files don't have a watermark, sorry, just one of those days!
