if Danny can do a best ever , so can i ;)

For what i do this is as good as it gets !
Took the camera out tonight , pissed off a bit with last night results, went down Liberty House , beside Sherriff street, Sean McDermott street , lets put it this way , even i got a wee bit anxious going in, and i've been all over dublin -- captured this , and when i saw it , i knew this is what i wanted , an amazing bunch of very photogenic faces, streetwise and captured in not the most welcoming environment -- this is why i photograph -- think i'll retire now :)

Saw this on your Fkickr and it jumped out at me! Full of character and fair play for taking the bull by the horns and going where a lot of people would be nervous. I work in community development and meet many youngsters that would be considered "rough". I have to say, though, that the vast majority are sound out and are lost. No supports and tough circumstances. It is painful sometimes to see decent kids being branded and left alone by their families and the State.

Anyway, I've said it before Barry, your photographs will stand the test of time and will provide a record of how the Celtic tiger has missed many.

thanks -- glad it worked for a few of you as well -- sometimes when i post , i'd be a little sensitive to criticism , but for this shot i didn't care - me/i like it -- and wouldn't change a thing -- 99.99 % of the times something goes wrong -- wrong camera , wrong lens , wrong iso , no tripod , no camera , shake , whatever -- but would change nothing here --
as stated it was intimadating going in with a camera , the entrance to the complex is quite closed off , there was a nasty row going on , and if i can get this group shot -- maybe a wedding would be easy !
As someone said before , communication is key , if they feal at ease , i feal at ease , rather than sneaking a sly shot - but i love some of the faces , a few characters for sure !

    anyway thanks
