I'm sure I'm about to be lynched here, but feel free to educate me if I'm being totally ignorant. It's just from my point of view LCD and Plasma TV pictures all look kinda blurry and grainy, whereas the old CRT pictures look a lot clearer and well defined, am I missing something here???

Sure plasma and LCD can have huge screens whereas the biggest CRT I've seen on the market is 28" (the viewing area in this looks as big if not bigger than that of a 32" LCD btw!?!)

Is it just me or has the whole world been brainwashed to believe that Plasma LCD pictures are Hi-Def and far beyond anything we have ever seen from a CRT TV? Motion Blurring, Grainy pictures, you'd never get that crap on a decent CRT TV?

Meh, I use my tv for my computers HD content, and my 360 for HD games, and its super pretty. Dont watch crappy tv when I can watch HD versions of any tv shows I do have interest in?

    Works for me anyways

There's nothing controversial there, a HD tv is designed to be used by a HD source.

SD will always look worse when it's shown on a larger screen. When buying a flat screen, the way the tele will process the SD signal should be a major thing to consider. A good Plasma or LCD will do this better. What shop were in? Maybe they're selling crap sets hooked up to one bad source. My Plasma showing HD totally blows my old 29'' sony CRT away.

Actually I agree with you .. In general I find LCd even in 1080p is glassy and grainy and although Plasma is a smoother warmer picture (far better than lcd) a cheep plasma will still not give the picture of for example a 32 or 29in Sony CRT.

That is or until you buy quality if you pay for quality you get quality.
I purchased a Pioneer 50 in' Hd 1080p and Its a perfect picture be it analogue tv or Sky. as for HD its mind blowing..:)

    Simple test.
try to run your computer, or use a Wii to browse the net, through a CRT and see which you prefer
