    hey lads,

    Got my CYMA AK47 yesterday.

Run into problem already :( N00b Alert.

I done everything correctly except, I charged for about 2 hours, had a bit of a target shoot with it, then charged again for 2 or so hours, played around, then charged it for another 2 hours and it was just dead. I decided to obey the instructions and charged for 12 hours, I get no kick out of the AEG.

Battery is hot etc, connections is right, and the fuse is ok.
    What to do :o

    Thanks for your help

    Dave

The others are better than me with the technical crap :p They'll help ya

Just a fleeting thought. I seen this happen to a AUG in HRTA and it was repaired. It is possible that the gears have stuck half way due the battery been on low charge and not been able to run the gears through a full cycle. Wont even try and attempt to tell you how to fix it but it can be fixed if this is your problem. If not hopefuly some one more knowledgeable can help.

did you let the battery completely die before chrging it? im sure that the first couple of times you are supposed to let it die.

Did you leave it for 20min after charging before inserting? High spped bursts will also do it. Lower rofs might help.

Ok, this is destroying me mentally but I voltage tested everything. Its past the battery and fuse so its internal.
Then all of a sudden my dad decided to try it and a BB whized around the room.
So I have been shooting about for a while and it appears the fire selector is problematic.
It fired a few empty shots on semi, changed it to auto and it just stopped. Again, it just wont work. I might add, that the father slapped the area around the fire selector, fired, then it worked.

Any ideas? Can I remove the fire selector? Maybe theres something lose?

Probable some grease/oil/dirt on the fire selector contacts or trigger contacts. I had similar problems with my G18c.

    What should I do mate?

Need to clean them. Never opened an ak but getting at the selector could be tricky as it seems to be right under the gearbox. Just guessing.

depending on the type of battery charger you got - did you set it to the correct number of elements of your battery ? this might cause the battery to be hot and appear charged when its not.

what happens when you pull the trigger ?
do you hear any noise ? do you feel anything ?

Im sorry but i wouldnt touch cyma. From what ive heard they are very unreliable.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 306 ✭✭davvowl

@lethal_weapon : i did read the rest of the topic. posting without reading is just plain dumb, which i am not.

@arcto : ive had several cyma's through my hands as several friends own some, and i must say they are the most reliable clones (just my opinion)

@lightning : cyma doesn't. cybergun does (they rename/repack cyma aeg's with cybergun brand)

so what happens when u pull the trigger and it doesnt shoot, do you hear any noise or feel any resistance ?

Ok, it's being working on and off, pain in the ass when you're trying to have fun whn you just bought it.

I have'nt touched semi auto now afraid something will happen. I've been using auto now for a good while, then what happens is, it's fires a few blanks, then its back to normal. Then it fires blanks again and stops.

    What the hell :(

That sounds like the feeding between the mag and the hop-chamber isnt the mae west.

Mag could be crap. It's a CYMA yeah? Should try a Tokyo Marui Ak mag in it and see what happens.

Also lads, the wind on it sometimes just lets go. But would this all cause it to just stop firing?

If the mag unwound then its not pushing the bb's into the chamber, happens to my m4 hi-cap quite a bit.

Just how much do you wind it? It says in the booklet till its tight, just how tight?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,542 ✭✭✭kinkstr

You'll hear a click when its fully wound.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,715 ✭✭✭marco murphy

I got the click now, didnt have that on themag i was using, I'll go cut up some milk cartons and let you know!

Tried that. Fired one burst and that was the fun ended again. This time when I wound to the click and put the mag in, I could hear the wind in the mag reseting I guess. A rasping sound anyway.

    Good Luck:)

I get the uncoiling sound in my ICS mag from time to time. Its probably loose somewhere inside.

I'm not reccomending you open up the mag, they generally dont like it, you are probably best buying a couple of mid-caps instead. Totally different spring arrangement.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,715 ✭✭✭marco murphy

    I bought 2 high caps :(

What to do. Ill make sure that the one Iam using is one of the high caps and Ill try then.

Are neither are working? If thats the case you might want to test someone elses mag that is known to be working correctly in the unit just to confirm it is the mags and not the hop that is the problem.

Not a single kick out of it now. Pretty pissed off at this stage.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 306 ✭✭davvowl

    aint lookin too good :S

i might be there this saturday, and ill be there for sure next saturday.

plus im going to get most of my airsoft equipment sent to me from my home (in france)
including my tools, with those i can basically fix anything (lets hope i wont have to ;))

Sorry i just dont trust this whole clone business. Id prefer to spend the cash and get a TM CA or STAR.

The TM sd5 can take a hell of alotta abuse....and some clones have lead weights all over em to make them feel "Beeeeeeefy". TM CA and STAR feed their AEG's protein powder and make them work out for the beefy feel

couldnt agree more arcto. dont like clones much either, but cyma is quite nice IMHO :p

I posted up a sort of ''Should I buy this'' thread, not one person advised against.
I will do my best to go to HRTA. What else can I do I guess :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 306 ✭✭davvowl

if you come at hrta in 2 weeks ill bring my tools
no aeg resists me. ever. :D

When you wind it you should start to feel the spring tightening. If it is just winding on and on then you have over tightened the spring. Same happened to me with my first high cap. Go for mid caps. I will never buy a high cap again.:D

Fixed it myself iam so proud lol.

Opened the whole shebang up and looked at the selector, looked a wee bit loose, so I took it apart and refitted, it's now well tight and rigid.

    Praise the lord :D

    Thanks for the help everyone
