WSOP Main Event 2008 SuperSAT proposal..

    looking a big slicks winter festival etc getting 300 players, how would players feel about some irish super sats for a decent buy-in and a lot of players thereby giving a good few tickets...


    I dont like the idea of playing for just 1 or two tickets as there is just too much luck involved once its down to last few players..

    If there could be maybe 3 supersats. 1 in waterford organised by Big Slick, one in Dublin by JP and one in Galway by Fintan for maybe a 500 buyin and 2 day events , would there be much interest in this type of event

    Maybe there would be between 10 and 20 tickets at each event, and some supersats for 100 buyin into there final supersats.. Clubs around the country could have there own 100 mini sats


    Ive no interest in bothering with online, but it would make for a great live experiance.. Intense pressure close to the bubble etc..


    I would say a lot of players would play all three, and it would send between 30-60 irish live players to the main event...



    Opinions Please, particullary from tourney organisers etc..... Purly self interest as i would love to play in these...

    I think that maybe in an event like the one above a unique idea might be a raffle for a WSOP seat. Tickets at €50 a pop, seat + expenses (€10k ~ $13k, no cash option) as the main prize, and any overlay given in the form of seats to other Big Slick events. Some of those sats can be like raffles anyways. You'd only have to sell 200 tickets to get the seat paid for, and could take a 2% organisers profit or something.

    Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit Aidan, probably a silly idea on my behalf anyhow, but I didn't think it through very long.

    Im sure this would be popular as well, the whole idea would be to get a lot of decent live players going to wsop, this might give a better standard of player going than online qualifiers...

    Also give 3 shots a year at at 20/1 chance, not including fish ratio;) this give any decent player a shot to go every few years,, hopefully..

    When players are knocked out of one super sat the STTs for the next sat would start straight away.. I dont know but i feel this type of tourney could really get support... There sould be a number of 50$ online sates to theses with Blonde poker, Green joker paddy power etc.....
