    DRY COUNTY
    SOMADRONE

SUPERNOVA SCOTIA & JAZZ PANDA COLAB

    CLEERE'S THEATRE

    9:00pm.
Adm: €5 with free hand-packaged CD

This September 7th sees a fantastic night of electronica, rock, pop and ambiance as acoustic-electronica four-piece Dry County, Dublin's Somadrone and the Supernova Scotia & Jazz Panda Colab all take to the stage in Cleere's Theatre, Kilkenny as part of the Problems at the Pancake House night.

The excellent acoustic/electronica act from Dublin, whose recent LP, Unexpected Falls, was recently released on Lazybird Records, Dry County have been regular players in Irish venues doing a number of their own tours as well as playing with and supporting the likes of God Is An Astronaut, Whipping Boy, Jape, Messiah J & The Expert, James Yorkston and Jimmy Edgar.

They have also featured at events and festivals such as Hard Working Class Heroes, Bud Rising, Electric Picnic, IMRO showcase tour, the Green Gathering and Pop Komm.

As Jim Carrol (Irish Times) says:
“Anyone who has seen the band live will have been impressed by their sturdy, steady blend of conventionally crafted songwriting and careful wash of experimental sonics.”

We have one of their tracks on our page and you can listen to more of their music at: www.myspace.com/drycounty05

Redneck Manifesto's Neil O' Connor brings his fantastic ambient and electronica set complete with vibraphone and strings to Cleere's Theatre. Local audiences may be familiar with some of the sounds Somadrone creates as O' Connor has also performed with Kilkenny Arts Festival regulars 3epkano.

Somadrone's new album, Of Pattern and Purpose, as well as 2005's Fuzzing Away To A Whisper are available now from Trust Me I'm a Thief Records:

“Suggestions of Ambient Aphex Twin or the Atmospheric soundscapes of Mum. Nevertheless, the results are often beautiful”
    Irish Times

“This sees him tentatively emerging as an Irish arranger of note”
    Foggy Notions

“A wordless, quiet and unusual but very good album. 85%.”

    Mongrel

You can listen to some of Somadrone's music on our page or at www.myspace.com/iamsomadrone

Both regulars of the Problems at the Pancake House shows, and both featured on our recently released PATPH compilation E.P., Supernova Scotia's David Sheenan and Jazz Panda's Neil Quigley will be performing together for this exclusive collaboration with a brand new set of organic and electronic music.

As Hotpress wrote of our last show:
"Instrumental combo Jazz Panda follow, promising to cool the venue to an ice-house with glacial guitar landscapes. Luckily, Supernova Scotia are on hand to heat things up a little, marrying fragile electronica to live drums to form a truly electrifying whole."

If any of their past performances are to go by, then this will be a performance not to be missed. We hope to have some of the sounds being created by the two up here at some stage but until then you have a look at www.myspace.com/supernovascotiaband and www.myspace.com/jazzpanda

As usual, there will be a free hand-packaged CD featuring the acts playing on the night.
CDs are limited so make sure you get down there early.

Thanks again and hope to see you there,
Problems at the Pancake House people.
