Could anyone recommend a good free and easy program for converting from avi to mpeg 4 or whatever works on the PS3?
    Thanks in advance.

edit: By the way, I'm running windows vista

    PS3 video 9.
Tried it, didn't work for me :(
Kept getting suspiciously small files that wouldn't run.

she plays MPEG1/2 files so just convert to any clips to that format, burn as data cc/dvd and bobs your uncle.

mind you, it would probably be more or less the same to just go and convert em to proper DVD format, TBH.

    See how you're configuring it.

Another great program is super, converts every format to every format.

Try tversity which will change the format on the fly so you can watch them without having to reencode them manually or change their format which will reduce the quality on your Pc. You can then watch them over your network instead of having to copy them to your PS3 which is a waste of time IMO.
