DVD Drive registry info damaged ?

    After re-installing Windows which fixed my DVD stuttering problems, my DVD drive worked fine, now refuses to work ...

    'Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)'

    Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.

    I'm lost for words about how infuriating this has become ....

    Try removing the DVD drive from the Device Manager and restart, see if that makes any difference.
