I've been getting a bit annoyed with iTune for a while now with a lot of the stuppid little things it won't let you do, and I'm looking for alternate software for it.

What's winamp like? I haven't used it in 3 or 4 years, so I'm curious if it's any good anymore.

I still use Winamp as my primary music player.

There's an excellent iPod plugin for Winamp called ml_ipod. You can get it here: http://mlipod.sourceforge.net/. Much better than iTunes ****e. You can copy files from your iPod to your PC, easily organise the files on your iPod (I've found iTunes doesn't let me alter track information after the file is copied over) and it has last.fm support so you can upload your recently played tracks from your iPod.

One of the things that pisses me off with itunes is the syncing thing. I auto sync the podcasts I listen to at work so they'll go onto my ipod without having to do anything. The problem with is I have to put every episode of each podcast on even if I only want to listen to the latest one of one podcast but still have all the episodes of a different podcast.

    Can winamp do that?

While theres no perfect application out there, my favorite is MediaMonkey.
