Thought this might be a bit of a laugh. Apologies to all the singletons out there ;)

My own girlfriend finds it all very funny. "Awh, going off to play soldiers with your friends again?...bless"

Maybe we should have a girlfriend/wife day at HRTA and show them what it's all about. Although, I'm a little afraid they'd wipe the floor with us.

I get the whole "ya fool" thing going on with my other half.
Whats worrying is she sees absolutly Zero difference between
a toy and the real thing. To her its a gun shaped object that
she ignores completely regardless of if I am arsing around the house
with an airsoft or cleaning my real steel. She does not see a difference.
    (Thats scary)

I've been meaning to save for a Car/Driving lessons and a garden
wall for our house as well as new carpet and floor tiles.
Somehow I never manage to save anything as I keep buying
stuff I like which now includes airsoft gear. Thats another thing to worry
about as I got to watch it when packages arrive at our house.
(Got to keep reminding her how CHEAP they are.)

My Missus doesn't like Airsoft at all. She sees it as a "load of little boys playing soldiers".

I think thats pretty much how most of them see it.

Mine was completely dismissive of it at first. Now she's not so bad.
She even packs orders from time to time :)

    Isn't that what it is?
If you enjoy it then it's a good hobby to have but I don't see how she is wrong.

Heh. Actually, when she first starte to do the rolly-eyes thing and make disparaging comments, I just said "Would you rather I had a train set in the attic?" :)

My wife has no problem with it. I think if an all girls day was organised she would make an effort to go. She likes to handle the guns and fire them especialy the new onew when they arrive, so I have to make sure I get there first.:D She probably thinks there could be worse I could be doing.

All my girlfriend cares about is that I win. And her jaw dropped when she saw the Dragunov for the first time (somethin tells me she is impressed with the, ahem, length):D
She is in favour of it and wishes me well when I head off on Airsoft Adventures with my mates, and puts the tea on when I get home. Bless her cotton socks.

I have neither girlfriend nor wife (sniff), so by other half of me, I assume you mean the other half from the one that loves airsoft. That would be the half of me that likes money. And he's not so good at argueing. Especially when the airsoft half is holding a gun to his head.

just an inetersting side topic, are there any women out there who play airsoft or are interested. seems that all the th various other (i know mine doesn't anyway) understand the need to have three or four difrrent AEGs or undertand "playing solider" at the weekend

I guess that trumps your lot, then :D

Seconding the HRTA ladies' day thing.

Not that my Mrs would partake (although... coupla pints and I'm sure she'd come round :D)
But for the social side (we not got many friends yet :( - what with being new to the Land and no family close by. etc.)

Dont have a girlfriend or wife so ill do the embarrassing thing and say how my ma feels (cumon sigletons, dont say that this isnt where you get most of the guff from!) :o Only cos its funny tho. When she found out i am interested in this, she did her usual and looked through the internet for any signs of danger ect. She then saw the IAA page where it says a problem is people selling rifles as toys and that sale of guns is not regulated. She took that to mean that the sport is not regulated and that pretty much any rifle was acceptable. I quickly pointed her to the Firearms Act and the 1J law and also explained that the IAA are fully involved in keeping the sport safe. She reluctantly accepted that (i think) so ill give her a week until she finds something new :) Of course by then ill have the rifle so hopefully i can show her that they arent exactly anti tank guns :D

My last two girlfriends loved them, and a lot of my female friends insist on shooting them whenever they call over. Funny until realise they've used your last bottle of gas and pack of bbs. I did go out with a girl for a while who hated them with a passion, she constantly nagged me about how they cause trouble and the usual indymedia style arguments. One day she called over and sat on the couch and jumped up again after she sat on the valve of a pistol mag and discharged the propane into her leg. Her next words were "That's it, either they go or I go, I'm not having them here anymore."

I looked at her for a moment. Then I opened the door.

My P99 has better curves anyway

4 women today asked "do other women play?" and would it be ok if they came along to HRTA.

<----grabs coat and finally heads out for the night....damn addictive boards.ie

My girlfriend looked upon it as a harmless "boys will be boys" hobby. She'd spend the same amount on a handbag so she couldn't really give out. Then one night she came home a bit shall we say under the weather and wanted a go. Turns out she's a handy little shot !!

Now she shows off my babys (JG MP5A4 and JG G36C) to anyone who happens to be in our home.

I kinda like it when she has a go. Chicks and MP5's. Job.

I really don't get that. What we buy are high grade precision machinery. Things which feel like they should be pricey.

They spend the same amount of money on what is no more than an elaborate pouch.

There was a notable presence of the female variety at Ground-Zero the weekend just gone, everything from girls who marshal (like those from the Predator combat team), girlfriends, partners/wives, etc.
