Booking an additional childs ticket with Ryanair

We have a conundrum on our hands. We have a family wedding next week near London and my brother and sister-in-law decided to bring 3 out of their 5 children. Tickets from Dublin to Stansted were booked (all the kids are on their mother's passport). Then they decided to bring the fourth child who is 3. Of course you can't book a ticket for an unaccompanied minor on his own or amend your own booking by adding the child. So they booked a regular ticket in his name. They are afraid that when they get to the desk, he won't be allowed to travel. Does anybody have any experience of this? You can't get anyone on the phone in Ryanair. I'm nearly considering going out to the airport to ask at a check-in desk.

Can't see why there'd be a problem, the child is a farepaying passenger. However, he will need his own ID ie. a passport.

Therein lies the problem - the 3 year old is named on his mother's passport who is flying on the same flight. If they are being awkward and we know that Ryanair can be like that, they might insist that the ticket holder has some form of photographic identification like a drivers' licence ( at 3!!) or his own passport.

There's no might about it. They WILL look for photo ID.

I would suggest a trip to the passport office is in order. They can do a passport but you'll need proof of imminent travel.
