Would doing the MSc in Electronic Commerce (Business) be rehashing my degree?

I have just finished my degree in Information Technology and Business http://www.itb.ie/site/courses/bn405.htm. I have been accepted into the MSc in Electronic Commerce (Business) http://www.dcu.ie/registry/module_contents.php?function=4&programme=MECB. I thought that it was a great idea at the time when I applied, but after studying the course material in detail it seems as if the majority of the material I have already covered in my degree :(

Obviously there is a step up in standard for a masters but the material would be basically the same as the degree thus not being of any benefit to me when I go in search of a job or do I have the wrong perception?

I would love to hear anyones opinion on the course!

I have recently graduated from MECB. The curriculum of the programme is very innovative and provides advanced business modules related to e-commerce and digital business and fundamental technology modules such as java programming and e-commerce applications. If you see yourself pursuing your career in e-commerce I greatly recommend this programme to you. It is a challenging degree - I must admit; however you gain a lot in return (very practical and project based) - but you must show a keen interest in this area if you want to pursue it at academic level. If you are more into IT side of the e-commerce you should choose MECT (Master in E-Commerce Technology), it has modules such as cryptography (if I remember correctly), etc... The aim of this degree is to bring together both business and technical students who closely collaborate on group assignments. The final part of the study leads to a practicum (practical project), in which the students prepare a business plan and create an e-commerce application. I also had a look at your past BA curriculum and it appears to be different to what we have covered, your one is more closely related to general IT and business (however, this is my individual opinion as I was unable to access a detailed description of each of your past modules). Good luck and I am sure you will make a good decision.

    thanks for the reply radooo!

I accepted the masters, I am starting next monday really looking forward to it:D

Could you tell me for the practicum if you are into groups or as I would expect, let pick your own groups:cool:

Can I jump in on the last question and ask if it is possible to do the final practicum alone, or MUST you work in groups? I'm doing the M.Sc. in Electronic Commerce (Technical) this year. Thanks.

Has to be done in groups. at least 1 technical and 1 business person per group. Groups can be 2-4 people
