    Edser, as for the fps to joule thing,

    1 joule = 328fps with a .20g bb. That is the standard rate of measuring it that (almost) all websites will use.

    OP: as o1s1n said, have a read through the stickies, they contain most the information you want. Of the two pistols you posted, the desert eagle is a great gun but it's bloody huge, i would personally prefer the beretta for plinking/target shooting, but i'd also look at maybe an m1911 or a glock 17

    You could get a good Gas Blow Back pistol for around 100 deliever from Ehobby
    Im buying one very soon myself, good selection there to, a good few m9's, not sure about the Desert Eagles, keep in mind your gonna have to buy a propane adapter but Shiva has them on his site along with a few pistols so no worries there.
