The good people at your local VRO (vehicle registration office) would happily give you a figure if you provide them with info and pics.

One thing to keep in mind with importing a RV from the states is the electricity and gas standards are different over there. Some serious re-wiring and re-plumbing would have to be done to make it work in Europe.

Also ..isn't there additional duty (on top of VRT) on imports from the states?

    Hi There,

I am not sure from your link what exactly it is you are thinking of importing. In the past I have considered importing an RV (Recreational Vehicle or Motorhome ). I found that the cost of collection and delivery to the port in the US , then shipping, insurance and delivery to Southampton on the South Coast of England working out in the €4,000 to €5,000 bracket. You then have to fly to Southampton to collect it,drive back across England to Pembroke/Fishguard or Swansea and get the ferry back here.

Then as the OP pointed out there is the electrical conversion which needs to be done by a professional who knows what they are at. Finding this person was my problem. There is no major change in the plumbing that I am aware of but I could be wrong here.

The gas is LPG which is available here - check the golden pages for your nearest stockist.

I have more info on this if you need it and I also have info on the VRT position if you need it.

    Regards,

    Chevy RV
