Aren't parents hilarious when they're drunk?

Maybe its just me but I think my folks are hilarious when they're hammered. People I know tend to get embarrassed around drunken parents but I find it brilliant and can't help but say to friends "see that guy over there in the gutter eating mustard from a shoe, yeah?! well thats my dad!" haha just joking. A funny story about my dad, we were at a wedding and he proceeded to put his tie around his head on the dancefloor to Kung Fu Fighting, he probably thought he was the sh*t doing Chuck Norris round house kicks, after a messy night he ended it by tripping and running head first into the side door of his car, absolutely fantastic! Am I on my own here or do people agree?

Hehe I just stay away from my Dad when he gets drunk. There was a wedding last year that I missed and I heard the dancing was ..ehh well. My brother said that he started doing a jazz hands type of dance and that sort of thing I've only seen with AC/DC (hopping about the stage). This from the lad who hasn't a word to say to anyone when sober. Brilliant. :)

Too right fakearms123, respect to the alcohol! After all you probably wouldn't be posting here today if it weren't for your drunken daddy.

I don't think getting pissed at a wedding constitutes alcoholism.

    And this is after hours.

I've never seen my dad actually drunk, just slightly more chatty than usual. And that's after a LOT of drink. He's a horse ;)

My mum is hilarious when she's drunk. I had the pleasure recently and it was worth being dessie for the night to see that!

My mother once came home from the pub and painted one of my toenails. Came home from the pub the next night and removed the paint. Very odd.

My mam would be funny. altough my Friends find her funnier than i do when she's drunk. When they come in from the Pub my Dad just Yap yap yaps. and gives out that bit more than usual. very Fookin annoying if you're dug into somethin on Telly!

My mam also tends to go into "Lets have a deep Heart to Heart Discussion now" mode. i normally Run up and pretend to be asleep when i see those ones coming.

I've never EVER seen my sister drunk and i dont think i ever will. She's one of those ppl. ....just thought i'd throw that in there.

Well the reason i've brought up this thread is because I've only seen him drunk recently at the wedding (a few weeks ago) and last weekend, im 20 years old, so its not a frequent thing, and those two rare times i've seen him were hilarious. From your comment Im going to presume you were a sheltered child.

When did I imply that Your parents where alcoholics? The title of the thread reads 'Aren't parents hilarious when they're drunk?' By which my understanding is that you want confirmation that all parents are funny when drunk. I was giving an example when parents aren't funny when drunk. Not specifially mine or yours.

    Mine are just embarrassing tbh.

Once when I was in primary school my mum had a glass of wine too many at the restaurant and when we came home she tried to text my principal telling her exactly what she thought of her (she really really disliked her, thought she was a horrible woman!) but thankfully she didn't have her number!

I don't find my mother funny when she is drunk, as she usually decides to inform anyone in the general vicinity every embarrassing thing i did as a child. Everyone else seems to think its great though.

My ma doesn't drink, but my da can be proper funny when he's drunk.

Unfortunately he's a complete lightweight these days and tends to just get sloppy drunk instead.

Strange that this topic has come up after my dad was all day in the pub yesterday.

He came home and then went on to tell my brother, mother and myself the same story 4 times!!
After this he went to his bed and collapsed on the bed asleep at 9pm and if he snored any louder the roof wouldve come off!

Oh theres nothing worse than a drunk person repeating the same things over and over. i tend to wonder do they do that if i'm drunk with them and do i still find it interesting/amusing after the fifth go.

No - my father becomes a know it all and is boring when drunk, except when he dances then it's class.
My mother slurs after 1 drink and sounds a bit thick and she keeps telling the same stories over and over.

I of course am witty, charming and vivacious after a few tipples.
