Thinking about getting a macbook as my new college course will be run completely on macs and also i will use it for djing and leave my other laptop jsut for net/downloading etc

    a few questions.

the 13" 2.16 is 1249euro while the 13" black 2.16 is 1249. the only difference(besides the colour) I can see is an extra 40gb of hard drive is this correct?

are the macbooks 32bit or 64?

in the other thread it says that they are limited to 3gbram but on the site it says up to 2gb is this just the max amount you can buy from them?

    is iwork08 worth the 80quid?

    thanks in advance people

the standard black has a bigger hard drive 160gig as opposed to 120gig of the white one.

the white one is 1249 and the black is 1449. so 200 extra for 40 gig's of space and different colour.

no one can justify this but yourself.

don't forget to use the education store if you're buying online.

they are physically limited to 3 gigs of ram 2gig stick and 1 gig stick, but apple only say max 2gig's as they prefer you to have identical sticks in each ram slot.

Yes the only difference between the two is the hard drive (and the colour). You've got the prices above wrong by the way.

    They have Core 2 Duo's, so they're 64bit.

It is best to use two ram modules that are the same size, so 1GB + 1GB for example. If you use 2GB + 1GB then the ram will be a small bit slower. Both will work fine though and the speed difference is minimal.

I think so, it depends how often you would use them though I suppose. Pages and Keynote are great for producing really quick, nice looking presentations/documents. Haven't used numbers yet.

    Hope that answers your questions.

I don't think this is true, I'm pretty sure that you get iLife and a 30 day trial of iWork.

On the right hand side of the apple store page there is a link to a store for students, teachers etc..

If you order through this store then you will get reductions on the macbook (and other products).
