    Hi all,

Does anyone know of any other shops in Dublin apart from Waltons that stock a decent range of keyboard amps?

I'm looking at amps along the lines of the Roland KC-120, Peavey KB3/KB4 and Behringer K1800FX/K3000FX.

    Thanks!

I guess try Music Maker around the corner from Waltons. I mostly end up buying keys stuff in the UK to be honest, thru turnkey.co.uk or gak.co.uk, or else from thomann.de. If you can wait for it, you'll save a lot. Waltons prices should always be double-checked elsewhere.

Thanks for the reply. I'd definitely be buying off the internet as it's a lot cheaper but I want to be able to try some of these options out first.

    Cheers.

Keyboard amps generally need more wattage compared to a guitar amp to put out a clean sound at volume. Ended up saving the extra and picking the Roland KC-350 over the 150 myself. 120 watts versus 65 means I'll rarely have to push the amp.
Either way with a band make sure to hook up to a PA if you need a boost to be heard.;)

Have one of these myself (Roland KC-350) would highly recommend them. I got mine in Music Maker. Music Maker on occasion have a half price sale, thats where i got mine last year. You should ask them about that. Think its coming up fairly soon.

    Thanks for the advice.

I've found that the advertised wattage tends to be a bit meaningless with these sort of things. I don't need gig levels, just to be able to keep up with drums at garage jams.

MusicMaker didn't seem to have much in the way of keyboard amps when I was there. Maybe I should take another look. It's a bit annoying that they took Peavey from Waltons so that now Waltons no longer stocks Peavey keyboard amps and neither do MusicMaker either. Oh well, at least I can now buy Peavey guitar amps....
