I think this has already done the rounds, but this is a better link with clearer pics than the first one I saw some weeks ago.
I can't vouch for it's authenticity but it looks genuine...lucky sod.

    The barn

A New York man retired. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely so it would last and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal. The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15yrs.the owner and wife both had died and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers but the large barn had steel doors and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......
So nobody made an offer on the place. The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in and set about to tear in to the barn.......curiosity was killing him. So he and his wife bought a generator and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds.

    What was in the barn...............?

    Go to

And start wishing you had bought the place.

Lots of Opels and Lancias, judging by the large numbers of such vehicles. I wonder what are the chances of finding a collection like this in Ireland. What has happened to the collection since the pictures were taken????

You'd be surprised at the amount of collectors in this Country ! Everytime I go to a meeting I hear stories of somebody who has 20, 30, 40 or whatever cars in various places !

My cousin had 60 vintage tractors at one point. He is now down to 30 though.

I think it could be a disease!

At one time I was considering doing a photo-essay on classic tractors in Ireland .... if it comes up again could you give me his contact details (or v.v.)?

It's like human rust - unless treated it will spread!

Is the only way to treat it is to buy more cars?!!!:D
