    hi

bought a linen jacket recently but didn't notice it needed to be dry cleaned.

i have other linen clothes that can be washed in the machine at 40 degrees.

would you bother dry cleaning this or risk it in the machine??

    thanks

What colour is it? I find black linen fades easily. I don't think it will shrink though, if that's what you're worried about. Then again, I throw everything in the washer. Life is too short for dry cleaning.

On a related note, I still get the dry cleaner smell when I pass a place. Does that mean they are still using all the environmentally unfriendly chemicals?

I used to think that you could always wash linen, until I washed a pair of lined pants, and the linen shrank, but the lining didn't. End result: One ruined pants and new respect for Dry Clean Only labels.
