€1,500 to spend on a TV...ideas?

    Hi all, my cousin has €1,500 (max) to spend on a tv. He's looking at about 40 inch or more but we really have no idea what brand we should be looking for. It will mostly be used as a screen for his Xbox360, digital TV and he is also hoping to hook his lap top up to it.

    Can anybody give us a rough idea what we should be looking for? Make or serial number.

    I know we should be a minimum of 2 HDMI, 2 Scart and possibly an optical audio output. Other than any of this we are stumped.

    We are going looking tomorrow (DID, Power City, Dixons, Harvey Normans...etc, the usual places). He's looking to buy it before the weekend.
