ok, for the last two days this has being driving me insane. i have lost alot of sleep and cant get this place out of my mind. The house i am talking about is ont the main road near Kilmeaden in Waterford. As you are leaving Kilmeaden and heading towards Cork the house is about a 5 minute drive out and is located on the right hand side. Its a two story house that lies very close to the road. two nights ago a few of my friends and myself deceided to head out to the house to have a look. when we arrived the place was very eery and dead. we parked outside the house and there was a dim light on inside, to my knowledge no one lives in the house (not confirmed) or has done for several years.
The story of the house is that a man murdered his whole family there. he hung his wife and kids on a tree out the back before he hung himself. This house is known to be haunted by locals and locals prefere not to talk about it. Does anybody have any more information on it?? Apparently there is a poltergust in the house and is harmful to whoever enters.

The title of the thread implies that you have some personal experience of the hauntedness of this house. Do you?

no i dont have first hand personal experience. only stories from a few of the guys who have visited it before, they just felt an evil presence and a lot of negative energy when they were last there. i felt this myself when i was there the other night. Also when the guys were there before they had to go because a car stopped and told them that this house was haunted and bad things may happen ( a local i assume).

we didnt want to find out!! The light was the scary part especially since the house is meant to be deserted. The light was just a dim light in 3 windows and all windows had the same brightness. it was about the brightness of no more than a 40 watt bulb.

Spend a few hours in it, maybe take some picture, then come back to us.

At the moment I'd settle for a quick snap of the front of the house. Of course I would not suggest tresspassing to anyone. I'm always interested in these places that have local stories.

me and 3 friends went on a cycling trip looking for that house and we got some interviews on camera with locals and people in pubs around that area, the long hall and haughtons. but i lost all the videos and pictures when i cleared my hard drive  alot of the people seemed uneasy talking about it

I know exactly where that house is and i live about 5/10 minutes away from it!! My mother has been living around that area since she was born and she's 56 and she has never known anyone to live there and i've passed it late at night and there's always a light on but never actually heard the story about the husband killing his whole family. Although i did hear that if you spend the night you can hear a child crying most of the night but ive never known anyone to actually stay there. Its a very eery house alright

he hung his family??.....that would have been a tad ackward:confused:

i persume he killed them first, and then hung them??

Have you tried to confirm if the murder actually did take place??

I'd suggest you try contacting a local historian or if you can get a rough time of when it happened, you could go through the papers or church records.

The light sounds interesting, is there glass in the windows of the house or are there any reflective surfaces inside of the building?
The homeless people staying there makes sense, or maybe people "knacker" drinking while you were there.

Assuming you are going to go back, how about going back during the day at first so you can see the place better and have a feel for it before you go at night.
