    Hey folks,

Due to my incredibly satisfying lie-in this morning, I wont sleep for several hours so Im looking for a film to watch - access to these films isnt a problem so name whatever ones you can think of please!

Im looking for films that are similar to these, or a film youd think Id enjoy given that I enjoyed the following:

    Donnie Darko
    The Butterfly Effect
    Requiem for a Dream
    Pi
    Fight Club
    V for Vendetta
    Children of Men
    American Psycho

Might not be the most sound list youll find, but as u can see they are films that kind of make you think. Anywho Ill leave it in your capable hands, thank you ever so much!

    City of God
    Oldboy (Korean)
All about Lily Chou Chou (Japanese.. this one is... it's not really like any of the films you mentioned above except for one way.. it's ****ed up. It's kind of a drama, teen coming of age... but it's a ****ed up coming of age, to a ****ed up society. It's 2.5-3 hours long.. it's an intense experience but def. worth seeing)

    Happiness (Twisted.. absolutely twisted. Hilarious)

Have you seen the works of David Lynch? His films have had a massive influence on many of the films you listed (in particular PI and Donnie). http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000186/
His best are Eraserhead (Pi being the closest anyone has come to recapturing the style of said film), Mulholland Drive and INLAND EMPIRE. Be warned, these films are VERY odd.

I can second recommendations of the likes of Primer, Happiness etc... A Tale of Two Sisters might interest you too, as may Brick

If you liked American Psycho watch the Rules of Attraction. Written by the same author and stars Patrick Bateman's brother Sean.
