I just took the plunge in an attempt to get this lame piece of hardware to play videos. Anyway, plugged the hd into the ibook and everything seemed to be working grand but then the computer froze:rolleyes: Restarted and now the hd seems to have gone to hell. it remained connected for a few seconds and then disconnected but now it won't even show up:eek: !! I tried to stick it back into the apple tv and scrap the whole thing but it won't boot.

Is there anyway to revert the damage caused??

Ok the AppleTV HDD is being shown again on the ibook but still won't load on the appletv itself. Is there any wayto restore the hd to factory condions on the ibook?

Did you take a backup image of it first? If so then yes, if not then no.

    I'll give you €100 for it ;)

I did make a backup yes, but I have no idea how to put the image of OSBoot onto the drive again. If all doesn't work out I'll take you up on that offer.

edit: I've tried using iPartition and disk utility but it won't let me format the disk?? When I connect the hd to the ibook it says it's not readable even though a few hours ago it was??

Sooooo.... skipped a step in the haste to get stuff running then? :p
j/k, j/k, hope you get something working again.

Serious Q: why did you try hacking instead of converting your files to mp4?

Ya I did actually! No, I fcuked up and I know it lol. Ah, I think being able to play straight away is much better. Also gave me some kinda project, I'm pretty enthusiastic. Basically that's it.
