    1 - shove instantly.

2 - he's not solid if he's min 3-betting pre. Hate calling if planning to fold next street to a bet but think I do that here

    1. yeah shove he'll have weaker flushes far too often.

    2. ugh hate his min 3bet. i probably call the flop and fold if he fires again on the turn.

I have this guy buddy-Listed, awful bad aggro-ish fish, trys to float a bit on the turn too.

Last had I was involved in with him I call his raise OTB with 44 pre-flop(3 way) is 6x4d6d(heaven), checked around and turn is Kx, he leads 2 callers, river a diamond he bets, half stacked guy shoves I overs-shove, he nearly times out and calls with K high Flush:rolleyes: half stack had K6 no profit so:mad:

Just one more thing thing, buy in full for 100BB ie $50, when you get hand like the 2nd nuts vs. this guy you want to take as much as possible off him.

    1. Shove you have 2 knuts! and not much behind

    2. As lads said before, call flop with intention folding to any major turn resistance. 3-bet minraise is turning out to be JJ+/AK too often for me also at $50. Love when I open with 55 get minraised, flop a set, and they donk off their chips. Then the berating in the chat box is borderline delirious ,

"how can you call with 55 when I Reraised, you fish, 55 ffs i am buddying you" ROFLaments

EDIT: Actually for hand 2 are you blind-stealing much? Whats your att. to steal blinds% ?

Pretty Much Agree with all above

    1) Shove he played like a typical drawing hand check/call check/call bet so push because this player wont know how to fold a lower flush.

    2) Id love to have notes on how on what range he min raises preflop (edit// ive since checked my notes so we know that now) and theres no point in calling the flop if your going to fold the turn against an aggressive player but hes turn aggression is so passive that i can call here and be very sure that if he bets that turn were beat so call and check/fold.

Can we ever 4bet this preflop to define hes range or should we always take the cheap card?

for what its worth he very likely has Aces because i have notes on him Min Raising AA but he dosent Min Raise QQ he 3bet that by 3x, its only 2 notes but i tought id let you know in case you didnt see a showdown so you can add it to your notes. He actually min 5betted the same AA hand when he was 4betted too

Never ever, and I def never do it to define a range that you know you're behind to. When people give you a chance to hit a set and stack them, I can't think of any circumstance where I'd turn that down.

Thanks for all the helpful replies lads,

Hand 1 i just called as i'm running poor and was expecting to be cursing myself for the call.

    Obviously it was clouded judgment!

Hand 2 I felt at best i was against was AK. The PF min raise wanted me to play so i called hoping to hit the flop hard.

I didnt and let it go which was passive and hence me posting it. Is calling here for set value okay or pointless?

Essential and to do anything else is retarded

OK fair enough (must be very few new posts 2day the replies were ultra fast) Just when he min 3 bet without any notes we have absolutely no idea what hes range is could be 33, A2s, AA-JJ or AK although as coli said its getting more and more popular with moster hands but i just taught id put it up for debate and i suppose its about as clever as trying to 3bet someone light with a PFR of 5%.

Edit// so you mean calling preflop for set value. Ignore so

What would the the best plan be on the turn if he checks, just check behind and possibly let him outdraw you or take a shot at the pot?

I mean calling PF and the flop? It just seems very passive.

RR the flop is no good as most of his range beats my 99.

Calling is mearly to get him to slow down or hit a set (22/1 i think.)

If he checked the turn i'd probally bet.

Well against an aggressive player id fold the flop if your just set mining but like i said hes so passive that you can be fairly sure he wont bet the turn with AK-AJ, he might check/call but he wont bet so you have a chance to win the hand on the turn or even take a free card, if any of the cards that are in hes range fall on the river you can just fold without investing anything else.

In comparison against an aggressive player your going to have to fold the turn a high percentage of the time because hell probably bet AK-AJ here aswell so your just throwing away chips calling a flop bet, you should decide on the flop what your going to do on the turn aswell so if you say to yourself ill fold the turn to a bet then you should think how often is he likely to bet the turn, if its a high amount (Agressive Player or a very tight range like AA-JJ & AK) then you should fold and ive hes passive like the villain then i think a call is ok unless you have him on AA-JJ & AK then you might lean more towards a fold anyway.

What did he have in Hand 1 BTW, a lower flush?
