I am just wondering whats the average price people spend on a wedding 15k, 20k, 30k 40k etc. I know it depends on what people want, but just a ballpark figure

We're getting married in two weeks... Including our honeymoon, we're looking at just shy of 40k... We probably could have done some things cheaper, but we decided to get what we wanted (within reason!) rather than trying to do it on the cheap. That's just us though.. You will probably hear everything from 15k - 150k! It all depends on a) what you want and (more importantly) b) what you can afford.
Just don't fall into the trap of spending way more than what you can afford just to have that "perfect day"... but as long as you're not putting yourselves under major financial pressure, get what you want rather than the cheapest option - hopefully you'll only get to do this once!

On the other end of the scale including our honeymoon our wedding will cost about 13K. we started with a 10k budget and my mam offered to pay for honeymoon so it freed up some money. You could do that by putting your travel agent on your reg list and the guest put money off the honeymoon.

Ours cost about 5K but we have yet to have our honeymoon which will cost about 8k more (the Orient Express), I was too ill to travel at the time and our wedding was tiny as I did not know if I would be able to do little more than say I do. We plan a big bash in 5 years time which will cost 15-20K (hope that my husband is not reading this), when we will renew our vows.

we are getting married in 9 weeks time and ours is comming in at about 30K including honeymoon. Some family members from each side are paying for the band and the honeymoon then her parents are giving us 10K towards the big day so we are paying about 16K or so ourselves. We dont have to borrow thankfully cause we kept money from a house sale before getting the new home built. If we never had that money we wouldnt get into debt for it though.nothing worse than starting out with a loan to pay off.Just do what you can afford.
