    Hi All,

It's Vera birthday this Sunday, her 29th I believe:) . To celebrate her husband Kevin will be adding €5000 to the prize pool.

The V.D. Poker Classic will be played in the SPORTING EMPORIUM, start time 7.30pm (Reg time 7.00pm).

I'm a bit short on information regarding blinds ect, I will email Kevin to see if he knows.

The game will be a €20 rebuy game with rebuys allowed for the 1st hour.

There will be spot prizes and trophies for knocking out bounties (however if you knock the birthday girl out and spoil the party you will be dragged outside and shot:D ).

Every one is welcome as Vera wants you all there!!

I hope everyone has a great night and i wish Vera a very happy Birthday.

Vera's husband has done this for a few years now and it is usually an invitational type event but obv he's being a bit more generous to student types :p

Its usually a great game and a great laugh at the tables.

Myself, Peter, Paddy and James did a deal at 5am.

2,700 each for me and Peter, the other guys took 1,900. We left 500 odd for the staff.

I took the title and the trophy as I had the chip lead at the time.

    trip report on the way.

Now is it because you want to show a little class or you want to get a phone number for a certain heir to the throne ;):D:D ???

I'd try ringing the SE and explaining the situation as they may be able to help you out.

    Thanks all.

Great atmosphere in the SE last night due to Vera's many friends and the usual excellent organisation of the SE and it's staff.

Happy with how I played as apart from a few hand I was pretty card dead all night. Won some hands at important times and managed to make the final table with about 1.5 times the average chips stack. Things nearly took a nasty turn of events when Paddy's AK spiked an A on the river against my KK (with one A folded) for over 1/4 of the chips in play 7 handed. Thankfully I was left with chips as after playing so long would have been a harsh way to go out.

In the end decided to take the deal (though me and Noel had a chip advantage) as there wasn't much in it. We got more than second place and fourth was just over 1k.

Lol, like it was my fault! You did learn a valuable lesson about raising my BB though I hope.:D

Noel i figure you rang to complain about there being only €4k added and not €5K like advertised?. So what did she say after you let her have it:D ?
I agree her husband has a hard neck for pulling that little stunt.

Not strictly true Aidan, I'd say the spot prizes, food and various overheads didn't come cheap! A €5k spend as it were.

Ok this will do for now, I thought he was getting cheap on us there.
Seriously though it was generous of Mr Duffy to add that amount.
