Thinking of getting FTA system

Hi please excuse my stupidity over the course of this post as I know next to nothing about free to air or satellite systems.

Firstly is there a definitive list of channels available?

I've heard some people say you can get Eurosport and others say no. Then I've heard people say you need to turn the satellite to Astra 2A for Eurosport and 2B for BBC & ITV

Can you get channel 4 on FTA?

My main issue is that I want BBC 1 & 2, ITV 1, Channel 4 & Eurosport from Free to Air. Is this feasible?

Assuming you live in Ireland you'll get Astra 2A, 2B, 2D and Eurobird 1 at once on the same dish - they're all located at 28 East. BBC and ITV are on Astra 2D, not 2B but you'll get this anyway.

Channel 4 isn't free to air, Eurosport is only available in English free to air with an analogue system, and from a different location (19 East)

See lyngsat.com for a list of free to air channels on astra 2 and eurobird at 28.2e. channel 4 possibly fta next year. best option is to get a ftv card and sky box from the uk which will allow you to watch channel 4, 5,5 us,5 life, and sky three.

Might I suggest you talk to one of the many suppliers listed on the main page. Personally I tend to buy off Tony at satellite.ie

Eurosport is available FTA, but it is in German. It is also on a different satellite to the BBC's and ITV's, though this is not a major problem and can be easily overcome for not much expense.

As I said, talk to one of the suppliers listed.
