I did New Year's eve in Brussels a few years back. It was great fun and a VERY long night!

I was sick of New Years in Dublin so I've booked Berlin. Apparently there's a huge party in the city, like more than one million people. There's supposed to be a great atmosphere. Maybe somebody who's been there at that time can confirm? Also, loads of cheap hostels, probably cheap hotels if that's what you're looking for.

Went to amsterdam in 2004 and then Hamburg in 2005. Both were amazing. New Years is actually a big event rather than the sh!te night it is in Ireland. The firework display and general madness in Hamburg were both amazing.
