Where to buy picture framing supplies?

    Hi all,
Does anyone know where in Dublin I can get framing supplies e.g. v nails, clamps, mouldings etc. I have an exhibition coming up and can't afford to go to a framer, so I figure I'd be better spending the money on tools and equipment.

Somewhere must sell this kind of stuff, surely?

    Cheers,
    Bruce

Woodies DIY have a picture frame set here and also have the frame wood.

If you don't have any luck buying the stuff - Central Picture Framing in Capel Street Dublin 1 have given me the best prices before for framing.

Thanks for the replies. Will check out Woodies - and Central if I ever need a proper job done ;)

I also (after extensive digging) found out about a place called Sisslings Mouldings down in Stillorgan. Went down there in the week and they do have pretty much everything you would need at reasonable prices.

The place is full of signs saying things like 'Trade Only' and 'packs will not be split by order of the management'. But don't let that put you off: in practice they were happy to sell me whatever quantities I wanted, and they weren't interested in my trade credentials.

McQuillans tools in Capel Street do a decent framing set with everything you need, as well as the same set as in Woodies above, and a couple of other useful tool like a strap clamp, corner clamps etc.

    Hope this helps somebody somewhere.
