How does an Airsoft M203 work? I mean, obviously it can explode so what actually happens when you fire it?

basically ya load it with a shell full of bb's and gas, and when fired it blasts out between 18 to a few hundred BB's in the general direction of the target like a large shotgun spread.

forgot to mention the shell stays in the launcer.

ah right, would a shotgun work the same way then yea? Just not the same capacity for bb`s?

unfortunetly no :( , the only 2 real shotgun types or the TM spring shotguns which fire 3 bb's through 3 seperate barrels and gas powered ones which can fire up to 10 bb's each shot in a fairly similar way to the grenade launcers but with a pitiful range and most of the gas shotty's are above the 1 joule limit it wouls seem. The TM shotguns are great but they realy would be better with a greater spread.

as explained, the 203's are the real shotguns of the airsoft world. there is however a wa shan shotgun which can fire 14 shots. its a double break barrel sawn off style one and each shell holds 7 BB's and can be fired one shell at a time or both at once.

The only bad thing is shells are not cheap and its claimed on some sites that it shoots up to 500fps so a no go for ireland.

You can also get m203s which have rubber cones that sit on the shell and get fired instead of BB's of some makes have foam nerf style shells.

Don't go near the G&P ones.

I bought 4....3 of them never worked, the 4th worked sometimes.
And usually not when I needed it.

I gave one to Nonex to use for something else and he found it was leaking pretty badly.

my g&p seems slighly less spooty but not reliable but the newer king arms ones that are cheap are a pile of poo, quite frankly...
