Just letting people here know that they are playing the Newport Centre in Wales on the 9/11/07. Mt friend told me today that it was on during his mid-term, but it appears it'll be the week after it. The best thing about it, Ryanair have cheap flights on the Thursday and Saturday(€30 return, after exchange rate), so its quite managable.

Am quite tempted by this myself, just for the sole reason that I'd be able to say I've seen Dream Theatre. Pity theres no Irish date...although probably cos theres no venue small enough that could hold Portnoys drumkit:D

    You mean big enough, right?

They played here in 2002 I believe, Vicar Street, which took portnoy's siamese monster.

Anyway, i'm heading to england for a string of gigs in november, including DT, but we're going to blackburn to see them.

Sorry, yes, I did mean small enough..was kinda drunk at time of posting, damn LC results.

And now his kit is a triple bass kit...nice. Tink I'm actually heading to Wolves to see them the day after the Wales one, done for less than a €100:D.

Woohoo, just got flights to London. Going to the October show now instead. This shall be mental. Symphony X to support.

Yeah, heading to that one myself.. For a first timer, you'll have a ball. Seen them at least 5 times now (starting to lose track) & they are great live. Can't wait for Symphony X too, great band. Never been in Wembley either, so a first for me. Got a standing ticket cos I couldn't face sitting still for the bands!

I'm still holding out for Irish gig but damn, it would be a shame if they didn't make it over. They have like a week gap on their tour.

And all the UK dates are on the weekend, so no cheap Ryanair flights. :(

I got the flights for about €55 return. Thats only cos coming back on a Sunday is that bit more expensive, but my friend said its worth it, and at this time, money isnt too much of an issue for us(lucky eh?).

FreakScenery, if you have time, come home on the Monday, then you can avail of the cheap flights. I kinda had to come home on the Sunday.

I'm hoping Wembley Arena is a good venue. Really want to get a good place to see Portnoy. Should be worth it, bit of a laugh aswell

If there's no word of an Irish date by September then I'll start looking at options. Unfortunetly I'll be in Croatia the night of the London gig so Wolverhampton in November would be my best bet.

Which airport were you referring to for the Newport gig, Mushy?

The Newport gig eh? I'm quite sure it was Bristol I would have been talking about. Then you'd have to get a train to Newport. For London, I'm flying to Stansted, train to Liverpool St., metro to Wembley.

For Wolverhampton, I'm sure East Midlands would be the best bet.
