Make sure your real player settings are set up to use a HTTP proxy if you're behind a firewall.

Mike 65 I'm using IE7. It doesn't work for Mozilla either.

Spocekty, I've tried that, no luck.

Try installing real alternative. I never installed real player and real alternative has always worked fine for me.

the RTE site from work - it crashes IE after a few minutes.

I can't (obviously) update IE or install realplayer alternative (I'd like to see me sell that to IT :p )

Tried that, to no avail. It says on the website that on could view the programmes via Windows media player. How could one do that.

PS. I'm not on a restricted network.

AFAIK, and I could very well be wrong - the live content can be viewed in WMP or real and all the archived stuff is Real.

Yeah thats the deal. Archive programs are real player only. I've watched a few live matches using WMP bit it always seems very dark for some reason. Could be the codecs I suppose. (not that any of this helps with the OP so apologies for that)

I would install the K-Lite Codec Pack (www.codecguide.com) alongside the Real Alternative and that should clear up the issue, plus it sets the Media Player Classic to handle RM files, meaning less overhead than the new WMP and less lag when watching streaming video.

Since the poster is on Vista I would suggest using the Vista Codec Package.

    Located HERE
