I have 2 PC's at home as per my sig, both access the internet via wireless fine, I also have an N95 which accesses the wireless network and the internet fine. Router is correctly configured for DNS etc.

Now my work Laptop connects to the wireless network fine, I can logon to my router from it, but cannot access the internet..........mystery deepens........I can however logon to my work network using the VPN and surf the web and work fine that way. The laptop can also access the internet fine when I travel using wifi spots or hotel internet.

    Whats da bleedin story? ;)

    Inqui

The problem looks to be with the laptop or perhaps a security setting on the wireless network. More likely a setting on the Laptop.

Try telling internet Explorer to automatically detect setting in TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>CONNECTIONS>LAN SETTINGS. Your IT Dept may have specific proxy settings in there that are confusing IE.

You could also check if your wireless network adaptor is obtaining IP addresses automatically, again your IT Dept may have a static IP address for wireless.

If that fails check to see if your wireless router has MAC address filtering setup. You may be telling the wouter to only allow certain MAC addresses.

If you can connect to a VPN and then route, I would think its something to do with your DNS settings on the DHCP in your router.

Since your router is allowing you out to the VPN, it must be working. Therefore, check your DNS settings on the router (you are using the built-in DHCP server on the router, right?).
