Effective Bankroll Building

It seems everytime I post one of these threads I end up in a horrible downswing but here's hoping it wont happen this time.

This is basically question to see if I am going about this the right way.

I've been setting myself a target of +100bb's at the end of each session or
+500bb's a week (I still try to have a life :) )...oh and for the purpose of this
I'm using bb as blind levels, so effectivly double up each session or 5 buyins a week.
I'm a single tabler, more down to screen restrictions than anything else (plus the fact the
ipoker mini-tables look rubbish on my laptop)

I recently purchased PTO and PT and have found them useful tools alright and they have already
    paid for themselves.

I understand setting targets is not something usually recommended, distracts for the long view
etc. but this is the only way I seem to be able to properly focus on what Im doing.

I also have queries about withdrawing. When do you do it, how often, how much do you leave.
I withdrew 6 buyins last night and left myself with 15 buyins for 1/2. Probably not enough but I fear
the gamlor in me might want to spin up if I leave it build :)

I was wondering if anyone else had a different way of gauging their progress, monteary wise
and of course is the way I'm going about it totally retarded.

    Graci

5 buyins a week doesn't sound like much. Let's say your plan is to start with 15 buyins for $1 $2 and move up when you have a 30 buyin bankroll for the next level, which is reasonable. If you keep winning 5 BI per week and live within your means, you will be a millionaire by the end of 2008 without ever having to move up past $25 $50.

Unfortunately, that's in dollars, so who knows what they'll be worth by then.

Set yourself the target of playing every hand to the best of your ability, and improving that ability, not specific bb/per week.

5 buyins a week is I feel a really achievable target. I dont want to be stupid about it and target myself for 15 but obviously I'll take it if it comes :)

To be honest, if I can clear circa 35K profit by this time next year, I'll consider it job done.

I think you should learn to play more than one table, fast. Buy a new laptop out of your first ten days' winnings.
