Now I know we all think alternative is the best kind of music since mr caveman banged his stick on the ground three fold to make a clicky noise but what if we could go one further what if we could unlock the true power that is alternative, how you ask with a slightly confuzzled yet interested tone well it's already been done!

Alternative acoustic it's pure magic I tells ye, every alterative song I bet nay I gamble that it sounds better in acoustic..

A skeptic I see, I hear you saying to your computer as if I could hear you "thats crazy you silly n00blet" but oh no is the answer to that...you want proof I see

Well then I tell you rush out onto the streets riot in them and find yourself a copy of everlong in acoustic it shall blow your tasty brains out.

ill second that. I love listening to stuff played acoustic. I do all my covers that way. you get a totally different sound with another vibe to it in keeping with the same rythem and melody, acoustic rocks!

I'll second bubs then for parity. I even think britneys Hit me baby is miles better than the boring acoustic cover. Same for most things. Right now I can't think of any acoustic version better than the original.

Doesn't matter what instrument you use but how you use it.

I do like hearing accoustic covers but most of them just don't have the staying power of the originals. My two favourites are Next year from the Skin an Bones album that the OP was probably reffering to and Live Forever from Oasis unplugged, but when I wanna hear the song I'll reach for an original. Having said that, the Jeff Tweedy solo gig and DVD are amazing and accoustic shows are very intimate which is nice

I hear a few non believers in the crowd, they dance a meloudious dance against our acoustic ways buy they should truly understand acoustic before delving in.

Sit down, lay up your feet for I shall iron out some crinkles your acoustic opinions. Acoustic is like a lice perrformance you see a guitar hero can have a great show or a terrible one.

I can hear you say in a calm yet eager voice, in your dim lighted abode ahh but it is the same with electric, I aknowledge this and hit the ball bakc to your court with another statment. You see electric has a pinnacle it can reach an orgasmic pinnacle that makes one love a band so much they will start their own group up (yeah I'm talking to you scott).

But you see acoustic it has no pinnacle it is an endless peak that can only be furthered by the talent of the musician.

You picked a bad example with Everlong (even though the acoustic version is good). A better example might have been the unplugged version of Layla by Eric Clapton

The unplugged version is good but the original is class and much better than the accoustic one
