AFAIK They will help improve your core strength which will help improve your weights.

Should be good, I would swop the situps for bodyweight squats which will work legs & abs.

I was asking here before about overtraining, and how I could get away with cycling in high gears and wondering if pushups would be considered overtraining. I think it was Boru and some others that gave the go-ahead for it. I did aim to do 100 pushups a day, but dont (think Boru was recommending 1000!). I was doing 50 each morning before my shower. I can do 75 later on when fully awake & fed. Must take them up again in the mornings.

Everyone's recovery is different & even each person's recovery can change depending on a bunch of factors. I say fire away adding as much work as you want so long as you can tell when you're starting to over-do it.

I REALLY don't think bodyweight squats will do anything for your abs.

Will situps do much either though? He says he works them hard during the week so shouldnt overtrain them, I just see squats as time better spent than situps. I was only saying squats will work them, many people think situps are about the only thing to work abs, and that squats only work legs.
