    Our old friend Dave Haslam returns for a night of Rare Groove and Disco at Strictly Handbag on Monday August 27th. It's been a while since Dave graced the decks and he'll be playing the Globe with Dandelion.

    DJ Dave Haslam made his reputation DJ-ing over four hundred and fifty times at the infamous Hacienda club in Manchester; and is also an acclaimed music writer - writing for a variety of magazines including the 'NME' and 'The Face' and he's published three books including 'Manchester, England' ('Sunday Times' Music Book of the Year). His second book 'Adventures on the Wheels of Steel; the Rise of the Superstar DJs' came out in October 2001, and his third - 'Not Abba; the Real Story of the 1970s' was published in June 2005. He was a resident DJ at the Hacienda in Manchester from 1986 to 1990, and again in 1996 and 1997 (including what turned out to be the last night of the club in June 1997). During that time he opened for a host of bands, including the Stone Roses at Alexandra Palace and Spike Island. 'Yellow', his Friday club night at the Boardwalk in Manchester started in February 1992 and lasted for a monumental seven years. Known for his quality, eclectic musical taste, he has DJ'd worldwide - and most recently in Reykjavik, Berlin and Paris (where he has a monthly residency starting in October 2007). He currently plays regularly in Manchester and beyond and hosts a weekly show on XFM.
