So earphone prices seem to have ballooned in the past year, it used to be you could get a pair for 15 euro, now they are around 50 euro for a decent pair.

Anyone know where I could get a good pair for around the 20 euro mark?

After reading through some old threads on here, I recently went for a pair of Sennheiser CX 300 earphones. Very happy with them, good quality sound and they add loads of punch to music.

I bought off this guy: http://cgi.ebay.ie/Genuine-CX300-Sennheiser-CX-300-headphone-Black-u_W0QQitemZ290149260545QQihZ019QQcategoryZ112529QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I don't know what the retail price of these are in Irish shops but this is a bargain. Delivery was really quick. Hope this helps.

Get the JVC Gumi earphones. They are FANTASTIC. They are amazing for their price and I have had them for 6 months now with an uncapped iPod and they still do the business. I recommend them 100% and they only cost €13 in argos.

hmv have Maxell ones for €11.99, the new 'in ear' ones, they do the job and lifetime guarantee.

    Cheers for the advice!

I went with the ones from ebay in the end as I have seen them in hmv for 56 euro and I have previously heard good reports about them so I felt it was a bargain.

I have the JVC Marshmallow earphones. They were €25 in Currys and I think they are brilliant. Great sound from them and very comfortable.

Koss are good value and recommended on a few forums.
