Sky Digibox (Amstrad DRX-200) Reviews?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a couple digiboxes to connect up to the Quad LNB on my dish to extend those FTA channels around the house.

I've been offered an Amstrad DRX-200 model and I just want to hear some reviews on it, if anyone has had experience with it. The only other box I have is a Pace 2500, how would the Amstrad model compare to that?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks. :)

Older and slower and less reliable. If you can find them, the Pace 2600 or DS430N (same external chassis, different tuner) are the best boxes around.

Ok, thanks man. Would the Amstrad be above or below the quality of a Pace 2500?? I just want to try and get an idea of its performance and the Pace 2500 is the only box I've dealt with. Likelihood is the box won't be used very much.

Its older, slower and less reliable than the 2500 :D

Theres not a massive era between them mind, but Amstrad are the worst quality of the brands and Pace/Sony the best. I must admit I've not seen an Amstrad box in Ireland, ever - you getting it off the net?

Thinking about getting it from a guy over on adverts.ie but from what I can gather, the box has more negative reviews than positive. Do you know of anywhere else (other than Ebay) to pick up Sky Digiboxes?? Wouldn't mind getting another Pace 2500, not a really fast box, not slow either but I've been using this one for a few months now and think its grand.

Any markets in town sell them or anything?

Sky+ boxes will be Amstrad boxes from now on as BskyB bought Amstrad

Unlikely, OFT are investigating that as anti competitive.

Highly unlikely. Also, Pace have just won a new contract with Sky to continue the manufacture of Sky+, and they'll have a SkyHD box launched by the end of the year.
