Does the company have the right

    My boss was out for a few weeks .....i took a couple of days off and told him i had a cert ..i told him i left it on his desk.....(which i didnt) stupid i know. He asked mw if it was the company doctor i said it was.....Does he have the right to ask them if i attended that day ?

    He cannot ask the doctor if you went to see him,
    as the doctor would refuse to answer under medical and data proctection laws.

    That is unless you signed a waver when you joined the company, allowing them
    access to your medical records with that doctor.

    Otherwise he can only ask you to get a copy of the cert.

    If it's the company doctor there will probably be an official record of employee attendance for billing/auditing purposes. I am not a legal professional so I could be wrong but afaik they are entitled to the company doctors medical opinion on fitness to work but nothing else. If this is the case then you'll just have to hope that they don't follow it up.

    That said the above point may only apply in cases where they asked you to attend for a medical checkup for a stated purpose with the company doctor.
