    Why not use Excel?

Cheers, but how stable is it? Don't want to get something that's going to be crashing the whole time. Does it handle Excel files well?

Ideally I would, but it was a bit pricey last time I looked.

Just curious has anyone tried Numbers, it the difference between Keynote and Powerpoint is anything to go by then Numbers is definetley an option.

I haven't tried Numbers but it seems that it's getting decent reviews and it's a lot cheaper than office ($79 for iWork08). I used NeoOffice but the differences to Excel were enough to annoy me (formulas don't pop up hints, semi colons are the delimiters and other small things)

BTW Excel on the PC is the same price as the Mac.

I like Pages, in fact I like iWork in general. def use Keynote about Powerpoint. I have started using Bean more than pages recently though, but looking forward to iLife 08 all the same. I might give the trial a go and check out the changes.

A question on Excel for Macs. When using auto-complete, is there any way to make the word or whatever you are putting in, appear in the cell, rather than it showing up in a list below. You have to arrow down to select it, and then tab across to the next cell - instead of being able to start typing your word, see it appear in the cell, and tabbing straight into the next cell. May sound small, but it would make a big difference to what I'm working on. I checked the preferences, and I all I can see is turning auto-complete off entirely, which would be even worse.
