I recently put up a dish with a technomate box. RTE and Ch4 are pay per view. Is this right? Can I get them at all without paying?

    Thanks

    No,

C4 will remained scrambled for FTA (only viewable now with a sky sub) til next year at least.

RTE is also scrambled and it is unclear when/if that will change. (all that works on FTA is aertel).

You should be able to get RTE with an aerial (though there occasional exceptions).
