Which engine? Pumps when bought from an indepenant supplier such as GSF or Otto are pretty cheap as a rule.

The labour costs would be much greater.

to give you an idea a spurious water pump for a BMW M50 engine from GSF is about €40.... from a dealer i'd guess you'd be looking at €70 for the pump... :(

I guess the cost of changing it depends on where it is located, does anyone know if it's behind the timing belt? Is this another BMW plastic impeller??

I paid 100 euro for a water pump for a 04 passat tdi. On a side note I paid 215 for the timing belt.

And these were from an independant motor factors.

Were these prices a little high for this car anyone??

Sorry for dragging up an old thread but I too have a 1.6 mini cooper and the water pump is gone.

Can anyone recommend a good reputable garage or independent person who I can get to fit a new pump for a reasonable price?

    Thanks
