No Power Laptop

    Hi all

I have a Packard Bell laptop here that will not get any power to the motherboard at all. The power supply brick has its light on but when i plug it into the laptop the is no light and the laptop will not start at all. Nothing at all.

I discovered that the connection from the power plug to the motherboard was disconnected. I disassembled the laptop (no easy thing i tell you) and reattached the part to the motherboard ensuring that the connectors are now all solidly connected. I then reassembled the laptop (even harder), but the same problem persisted. I had a good look at all the parts of the laptop and all seem pretty good. There seem to be no visible marks to denote damage.

I have ruled out the battery because they have seperate connectors and if the battery was out of the laptop it should still start on mains power.

I seem to be left with 2 options, either the motherboard is wrecked (something that i cannot see) or the power connector is faulty.

If anyone can give me any other options, that would be really great.

    Many thanks
    Niall

Had the exact same problem with my PB laptop. Had an Easynote F527.

Luckily at the time i had insurance protection on it from Currys. Turns out according to the fault report returned with the laptop the mains board had to be replaced.
When it came back it worked perfect again.

Does anyone know where i can get a replacement battery for this model?
I have looked online at PB website & the battery store, but they are charging crazy prices. It's in a corner gathering dust & is a shame to let it go to waste.
